Clean bill of health

After a rough few weeks, we are finally healthy! Both boys are full of energy and going at full speed. Luke had a follow up appointment with the doctor yesterday and she said everything looks great. He hasn't had any trouble with coughing or congestion in over a week. We feel so fortunate that his body did its job to knock this virus out. It was a rough few weeks of illness for the whole family, but we survived.

We had to change Jacob's antibiotics last Monday because the original one didn't seem to be working, but once we did things turned around almost instantly. We stayed close to home for most of the week, to make sure we didn't have a setback and weren't contagious.

The weather has been warm lately, so even though we have been in semi-quarantine from others, we have been able to get out of the house everyday to go to the park, zoo, and for walks.
Luke continues to amaze me with his physical skills. He can roll over and push to sitting up in a flash, he pulls up on everything, cruises slowly, and is generally into everything. He is also doing great with his solid food eating. He's eating a lot of different flavors everyday. Of course, he doesn't like some of them - he definitely has his favorites, but I keep trying them all. He is also learning to pick up small finger foods. His pincher grasp isn't quite there yet, so he does get frustrated when the food sticks to his palm and it doesn't make it into his mouth. I'm sure in a few weeks things will be different again. Though he's been practicing with the sippee for several months now, I only recently started giving him my milk in a cup, hoping this can be used in a pinch.
We learned through this illness that Jacob does not handle being sick well. He was quite miserable and pitiful. Even though our daily life when he's healthy isn't struggle free, he is much easier to handle. I am so happy to see him happy and well again.

Here are the pictures from this week.

  1. So glad to hear the boys are well!!! It really does make life easier on everybody. I know what you mean about J not being sick well, my Luke is the same way and he gets whiney and VERY clingy to me.

  3. Great pictures. Yeah for getting out and about! Our gettig out today was an early morning trip to the post office all bundled up and then shoveling the driveway and sidewalk -- fun times with the snow :)
