Gymnastics

Jacob started his gymnastics class at the YMCA today. My initial impression of the class is that it really isn't much different than the "Gym n Go" class he took 1 year ago. The instructor tries to get a bunch of 2 year olds to sit in a circle and follow instructions while there is a whole gym of fun just waiting to be played with. It is like herding cats. She quickly gave up and let the kids do what they wanted and have fun. She did walk around and try to get the children on different apparatus to try a "gymnastics-like" skill, but it isn't quite the instruction I was hoping for. I don't expect Jacob to be a gymnast, by any means, but it would be nice for him to 1)learn to pay attention to a coach, 2) practice waiting his turn with multiple kids in the line, and 3) learn a few skills. I'm not sure if he will really take away much from the class, but he had a great time.
